Reduced-price ticket

People aged between 18 and 25, equipped with a valid identity document that must be presented at the access control, belonging to the following categories: citizens of the European Community, citizens of Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, non-EU citizens with a valid residence permit in a European Union country.

Free admission

• Children under 18 years old of any nationality, showing passport or id card. Children younger than 12 must be accompanied by adults;

• Student groups from Italian state and non-state schools and from other countries belonging to the European Union, accompanied by their teachers, upon reservation, within the quota set by the head of the institute; the reservation for schools from the European Union is subject to a fee and costs €3. The reservation is mandatory for the Basilica of San Francesco and for the Casa Vasari Museum, which have limited capacity numbers. Reservations must be made by filling in the following form [click here]; requests will be processed during office hours, from Monday to Friday. It is therefore not possible to make a reservation online or at the ticket office.

• Teachers and students of undergraduate, master’s or postgraduate degree courses and PhDs of the following faculties: architecture, conservation of cultural heritage, science of education or literature and philosophy with an archaeological or historical-artistic focus. The same facilities are granted to lecturers and students of equivalent faculties or courses established in European Union countries. Free admission is granted to students by showing their certificate of enrolment for the current academic year, and to lecturers by showing a suitable document.

• Teachers and students enrolled in fine arts academies or equivalent institutions in the European Union, by presenting the certificate of enrolment for the current academic year.
Italian public and officially recognized private school teachers with a fixed-term or open-ended contract who show the form issued by MIUR in which it must be stated that it is valid for the current school year.

• Journalists in good standing with the payment of their membership fees for the current year, by presenting the appropriate document.

• Tour guides authorized to practise their profession in an EU country, whether accompanying a client or visiting the museums for study or leisure, upon presentation of their professional ID card at the ticket office.

• EU tourist interpreters, when their services are needed alongside the guide (upon showing a valid licence issued by the competent authority)

• Italian Ministry of Culture personnel on duty;

• Members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM);

• In case of studies and research authorized by an Italian or international university, academy, school, research institute, or cultural organization, or by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, or for other justifiable reasons, the requesting parties may be granted free admission authorized by the Directors of the Institutions, which is valid only for specified periods of time.

• Staff members of voluntary associations carrying out activities aimed at promoting and disseminating knowledge of cultural heritage, pursuant to agreements in force concluded with the Ministry under Article 112, paragraph 8, of the Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape.

• Students attending advanced training courses at the Ministry’s Schools – Istituto Centrale per il Restauro, Opificio delle Pietre Dure, Scuola per il Restauro del Mosaico – (Circular Letter, ref. no. 2288 of April 19, 2001.pdf).

• Honorary Inspectors and Conservators of the Ministry.

• Members of the Carabinieri Cultural Heritage Protection Unit.

• Members of I.C.C.R.O.M.

• Teaching staff and researchers of the European University Institute in Florence (Circular 20/2013).

People with disabilities

The free ticket is issued to disabled individuals and to a family member or another companion who can prove their affiliation with social and health care services.

Groups

In the case of groups coordinated and assisted by a licensed tour guide, requests may be submitted by filling in the following form [click here].
– Please keep in mind that filling out the form is not a mere information request, but if there is availability on one of the three dates given as options of the visit, the reservation will automatically be confirmed. You will receive a response within 48 hours, from monday to friday.
– No same-day bookings are accepted.

Ticket Payment will be made:

1) for reservations made filling out the form payment must be done by bank transfer (bank transfer details will be sent by email after filling out the form).
2) for ONLINE booking by credit card. Visa, V Pay, Mastercard are accepted.
